Every mat in the studio is woven in one of two sizes — 6 feet by 4 feet, or 6 feet by 3 feet. The height stays the same either way; what changes is how much width you have to work with, and that decides where a mat actually belongs.
6×4 ft — the fuller backdrop
The wider size suits a stage, a mandap corner, or any backdrop meant to be seen from across a room — a housewarming, a wedding photo wall, a Ganesh Chaturthi pandal at home. The extra width gives a lotus or Namam pattern more room to breathe, and it reads generously in photographs.
6×3 ft — the everyday shelf
The narrower size is built for a puja room shelf, an alcove, or anywhere a doorway or a window limits how wide a hanging can go. It’s the size we’d recommend for a mat that stays up year-round rather than one taken out for a single event.
Measuring before you order
Measure the width of the wall or shelf you’re hanging against, not the idol or the table in front of it — the mat is the backdrop, and a little extra width on either side reads better than a mat that’s too tight against the frame.
